Living To Learn

What did you learn the last two months while I was away? Did you take a sales course? Attend a seminar or workshop? Listen in on a telecourse? Buy a course or new ebook to help in your business? Maybe you took a class just for fun!

If you did none of these things, why not?

I'm a fanatic when it comes to life-long-learning and believe it's true - use it or lose it! I just spent the last two months taking some much needed down time and here's what went on:

  • Took a Basic Motorcyle Riding course - ok, so I have to take it again to get better, but it was interesting to find out if I can do it. Put it this way - I'm looking at getting a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200XL for Christmas!

  • Went on a 7 day Meditation Retreat. This was something I'd been wanting to do for the past 4 years and finally stopped talking about it. The hardest part? My butt on the cushion for an hour...without my mind wandering to those things I wasn't doing.

  • Took a course in mortgage finance - just because I've been curious about real estate investing and it seemed to be the best place to start.

  • Listened to 3 tele-conferences on internet marketing, website traffic building and affiliate marketing.

  • Started studying Spanish. If you're looking for a course that allows you to learn words to use in normal conversations then give Rocket Spanish a try. It's a fun course and you learn using the same method you learned to speak as a child - by listening and mimicking what you hear. After the first 2 lessons, I found myself answering without first translating everything into English.

  • Went to Amazon and Putamayo for some new music. Ok, that wasn't really hard to do but I'm listening to music from around the world. I purchased the cd 'World Music' at Putamayo and found an old favorite from Miriam Makeba.

If you haven't done anything this summer to enrich your life, give yourself permission to do it right now! Go fishing, ride a bike again, take a walk or drive to a new area and walk around.

No lectures today, getting back into the swing of working again is enough for me today!

    I leave you with this
Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Eckhart Tolle
