In The Dreaming Room

Ok, silly title but Michael Gerber (E-Myth author) has become the official spokesperson for Infusion Software. Wondering if he has gone to the 'dark side' because Infusion is definitely not a company for the Solo Entrepreneur.

Where have I been hiding for a month? Writing more articles and finally have the Lease Option site and blog working. Also hanging out at Yahoo Answers, reading some of the really dumb questions people ask about starting a business...then don't want to hear the truth.

Why should I be amazed that people still want 'easy, quick, no-work' businesses but then want to make a gazillion dollars in the next hour! Sheesh, if it was that easy we could all ride in limo's to the nearest homeless shelter together.

One Rant's over, for the moment!

I must be living on another planet, I swear some of the 'news' in the social networking media is older than the first gray hair on my head! On Digg, some cave dweller did a huge post about 'Women Entrepreneurs Are on the Rise!'. Duh, stupid. The number of women entrepreneurs around the globe has been growing steadily for over 20 years, time to turn on the lights Skeeter and see what's happening around you!

Speaking of the internet (let's hope I don't get banned for this next post, I'm always playing with the patience of Blogger & Co.) at times I'm finding that what doesn't work gets spread faster than a gamer's trigger finger and smells about as appetizing as manure in a garden.

Every trick old time scammers used offline in our snail mail, are cropping up online and people are still falling for them. For example, chain letters. Remember they used to come on plain white paper in a cheap envelope, usually with your name mis-spelled on it? They'd start with something like 'Dear Friend' or 'My Fellow Religious Fanatic', then go on to tell you some totally stupid gibberish before passing along 'The Warning' - if you didn't send it along to everybody you knew you'd get creeping green fungus or something.

Well, they are alive and well online, probably sitting in your junk folder as I write this. Now I know you are used to me ranting about just about anything, but this kind of stuff pisses me off highly!

Now they're using charities in these things and more often than not, asking for money. I'm disgusted by how low some people will go to make money, this is one of them.

Rant officially over...just don't send me any of your chain letters, I've been deleting on average 50 a day and have enough of my own, thank you.

Now for the good stuff, let's do it!
Copywriting (like blogging) is something that I struggle with as a writer and
solo entrepreneur
. If there's nothing to say, why bother? Not good for this blog as you already know because it means it will take me weeks to post anything. Same goes for writing copy to sell my services and products. At least I'm getting better - it's still December!

But I digress, take a look at this video I found about the proper use of NLP in your sales copy and advertising. See if it's an idea you can use in your business. NLP Copywriting

Twice Shy Entrepreneur
Here's an article from the Tech Crunch blog that every
solo entrepreneur
should take to heart, it doesn't matter if your business is online or you have the neighborhood auto shop. It's a bit of having a plan meets reality check. Good Read in my humble opinion.

That's it for today and I leave you with this
